How to review and score student work

Savvas will automatically pass grades back to Brightspace once the assignment is graded.

To review, score and comment on student assignments, you must open the Savvas assignment from your Brightspace course.

From the Savvas Realize assignment review page you can see which students completed the assignment along with their corresponding grade and which students are in still in progress. 

Note: Savvas only adds students to the assignment once they open the assignment from Brightspace. You will not see any students listed under Not Started.

To review a student's assignment click on the student's name.

If the assignment requires manually grading, you can leave a score for the student. Once scored it will be automatically passed back to your Brightspace gradebook.

You can provide feedback on the student's assignment using the Comments feature.

Note: Savvas Realize does not sync the comments left by students and teachers back to Brightspace. 

Grade pass back to Brightspace

Once you provide a grade to the student or the assignment was auto-scored, Savvas Realize passes the grade back to your Brightspace Gradebook. 

Brightspace will convert the grade in Savvas Realize to the point scale you see in Brightspace. It will also provide a comment, indicating the assignment is now fully graded.

Accessing assessment data reports

As of now you will have to open the assignment in Savvas Realize to get to the View Data screens. To open the assignment in Savvas Realize simply click on the Savvas Realize button.
