Can I use the new Savvas Admin UI to add assignments to my LMS courses?
You cannot use the Savvas Admin to assign Savvas content, such as the Momentum Screener and Diagnostic Assessments, to your LMS courses.
What are my options for assigning Savvas content from Savvas Admin?
There are two options to assign Savvas content to students:
Assign through your LMS: Utilize the built-in assignment features within your LMS to assign Savvas content to your courses. This is the best option because it allows students to find and launch the assignment directly from their LMS course.
Assign directly in Savvas Realize: If you cannot easily assign content across your district schools in the LMS, you can assign Savvas content directly to your Savvas Realize auto-rostered classes using Savvas Admin. Students will have to log into Realize to complete their assignments within their Realize class.
Why can't I assign to LMS-created Classes with "(LMS)" suffix?
Not all LMS courses are immediately available in Savvas Realize. A synchronization process occurs only when a teacher adds Savvas content to their LMS class, opens a Savvas item, and completes the setup steps. Since this teacher action is required, there's no guarantee all LMS courses will be present in Savvas Realize at the time of assignment.
Auto-Rostered Classes Offer Guaranteed Availability. In contrast to LMS courses, auto-rostered classes within Savvas Realize are guaranteed to exist and be fully rostered. This means you can assign Savvas content to these classes directly through Savvas Admin without worry of missing classes or incomplete rosters.
Avoiding Confusion for Teachers and Students: When you add Savvas content directly to an LMS-created class within Savvas Realize, that assignment isn't synchronized back to the original LMS course. This means the assignment won't appear for students in their LMS course list. This can be confusing for both teachers and students who might expect the assignment to be accessible through the LMS.
