Does the Canvas or Schoology iOS app work with Savvas?
The Canvas or Schoology Apple iOS app for the iPad/iPhone prevents users from opening a fully-functional new browser window and instead opens content in a preview window. This experience prevents students from:
Students from opening content that requires a new window, such as the full Realize Reader eText.
Students and teachers from launching Savvas Realize from Canvas/Schoology.
The Canvas and Schoology Apple iOS apps also prevent teachers from:
Teachers from adding Savvas content using the iOS app (teachers can use the browser).
Given these limitations we suggest that students use a browser (Apple Safari or Google Chrome) on their iPad/iPhone instead of using the Canvas/Schoology iOS app.
Both Canvas and Schoology prioritize fixes and enhancements based on end user feedback. Please contact your LMS provider by opening a support ticket and let them know about how these limitations are a problem and prevent you and your students from using the iOS app.
